Sky-Watcher's new improved top-of-the-line ESPRIT EDX 3-Element ED apochromatic refractors are premium instruments of the highest quality with truly stunning optical performance rivalling or exceeding similar telescopes of even the most famous high-end telescope brands.
ESPRIT EDX Super Apo Triplets are designed primarily for the most demanding astro-imagers but are also fine telescopes for visual observations. The premium, superbly corrected optical systems deliver high-contrast images full of detail and zero detectable colour fringing, even on the brightest of objects, yielding exceptional contrast and sharpness.
The ESPRIT 80EDX features the same outstanding f/5 optical system as the previous model including one premium Japanese Ohara FPL-53 ED glass lens element. Each air-to-glass lens surface has exotic anti-reflection metallic coatings applied, to ensure optimum light throughput approaching 99.5%!! The proprietary Sky-Watcher “Metallic High-Transmission Coatings” (MHTC) are the finest photon anti-rejection coatings in their class!
The ESPRIT 80EDX has an improved back end design that dispenses with the capstan wheel of the previous model, allowing the focuser to be more easily rotated. Additionally, there is a rotatable adaptor provided on the drawtube to further assist in framing your images. The previous built in dovetail foot has also been dispensed with, with a dovetail bar and single clamshell tube ring now included. A carrying handle is provided for convenience. Features a rock-solid CNC Machined dual-speed rack & pinion linear power focuser with high load capacity and zero image shift, with a 2.8" indexed drawtube. Supplied in a foam lined aluminium framed storage/carrying case.
An optically matched Field Flattener is available as an optional accessory for imaging.
