BKP 200 DS + EQ5
Astrophotography Reflectors
Product Features

The new Sky-Watcher BKP 200 OTA Dual Speed incorporates superb mirror-set with two significant advantages. A Dual-Speed 10:1 ratio focuser is now included for excellent focusing precision. Also, the tube length has been slightly shortened to optimize performance for prime-focus photography. Even better performance for astrophotography and visual use can be achieved when used in combination with Sky-Watcher’s Newtonian coma corrector.

The EQ5 provides the precision and stability needed for serious observing. With single or double axis motor drive attached, it becomes the perfect instrument for deep-sky photography. Standard features of the EQ5 include a built-in holder for polar scope, a latitude adjuster with micrometer scale, an azimuth polar-alignment adjuster, aluminum setting circles, large manual slow-motion tracking controls, and a bubble level.

Review on National Space & Astronomy Magazine, Espacio by Jon Teus, a well-known astrophotographer, and astronomer comparing Sky-Watcher P200/1000 vs. Celestron SC Edge HD-800.

For those who have a problem reading Spanish or simply enjoy graphics rather than boring texts, here is a quick summary. Recently, there has been a review released by Jon Teus on Espacio, the national Spanish astronomy magazine,  that compares the Sky-Watcher P200/1000 with the new Celestron SC Edge HD-800. Jon Teus, who is a well-known astronomer that publishes articles every month in varies of astronomy magazines, decided to give these wildly different priced scopes a run. The brilliant new Celestron SC Edge HD-800 that retails for €1,500 made the very small difference when it came down to normal visual and photographic capabilities with the Sky-Watcher P200/1000 that retails for €350.  In fact, Sky-Watcher P200/1000 outperformed its competition in wide-field observations.  He also shared his thoughts about China manufacturers from poor, acceptable, to great lines of scopes; Sky-Watcher definitely produces one of the best lines of products out there.  If you are looking for fine details perhaps the €1500 Celestron SC Edge HD-800 could be for you, but for those who just want a great scope that performs just as well and most importantly won't have to sell their liver to afford it, Sky-Watcher P200/1000 might just do the trick.
